About the Role
MediaCraft.video is expanding into the metaverse and seeking a talented Unreal Engine VR Developer to create immersive, cutting-edge virtual reality experiences. As VR technology evolves rapidly, we need a visionary developer who can push the boundaries of what’s possible in virtual spaces while maintaining optimal performance and user comfort.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop immersive VR experiences using Unreal Engine 5
- Create intuitive and ergonomic VR user interfaces
- Optimize performance for various VR platforms
- Implement and refine VR interaction systems
- Collaborate with 3D artists to ensure asset compatibility
- Develop and document VR best practices
Technical Requirements
Essential Skills:
- Mastery of Unreal Engine:
- Advanced Blueprint programming
- Performance optimization for VR
- UMG and 3D UI development for VR
- VR Development Expertise:
- SteamVR/OpenXR implementation
- VR comfort and safety considerations
- Cross-platform VR development
- Spatial audio implementation
- Hardware Experience:
- HTC Vive/Vive Pro or similar (Oculus/Meta Quest 2, Valve Index, Pimax)
Additional Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of VR development experience
- Published VR projects
- Strong understanding of VR ergonomics and best practices
- Experience with version control (Git, Perforce)
- Ability to create optimized, maintainable code
Bonus Skills:
- Experience with:
- Haptic feedback implementation
- Mixed reality development
- Virtual production techniques
- Knowledge of:
- Photogrammetry integration
- WebXR development
- C++ programming for VR-specific features
Technical Setup Required
Developer must have:
- VR-capable development PC meeting these minimum specs:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 or Intel i9
- GPU: NVIDIA RTX 3080 or better
- RAM: 32GB minimum
- SSD: NVMe with at least 1TB free space
- Personal VR hardware:
- HTC Vive, Valve Index, or similar high-end headset for testing purposes
- Motion controllers and base stations
- High-speed internet connection for large asset transfers
Current VR Projects Include:
- Interactive virtual showrooms
- Artistic narrative VR 3D movie and storytelling adventures
